Equality

Loders CE Primary Academy strives to ensure that the culture and ethos of the school are such that, whatever the abilities and needs of members of the school community, everyone is equally valued and treats one another with respect. Pupils should be provided with the opportunity to experience, understand and value diversity.

Our Equality Policy puts in place a range of actions to eliminate prejudice, unlawful discrimination and victimisation within Acorn Multi Academy Trust, its school communities and workforce.

The Equality Act 2010 requires the governing board to publish specific and measurable equality objectives. Our equality objectives are based on our analysis of data and other information. They focus on those areas where we have agreed to take action to promote equality and eliminate discrimination. The Trust has set five equality objectives for the four year period from May 2021 until May 2025 (please see link to the policy and objectives below)

Governors conducted an annual review of progress in June 2023 against our objectives using evidence seen and discussions held with the Head of School. Evidence reviewed included: the School Development Plan (SDP); performance & attendance data (including for different sub-groups, for example boys vs girls, disadvantaged/Pupil Premium, SEN and Looked after Children); newsletters to parents; curriculum planning documents; parental engagement and attendance; governor monitoring reports.

Our Equality Policy and Objectives and annual review can be found via the links below or on request from the school office.

We have an accessibility plan for the school which can be seen via the link below. Equality for disabled pupils is included as an explicit aim in all of the school’s policies and is supported by the school’s other policies (use this link to view the policies page), including:
