This week in Science we were learning about Winter. We talked about changes that we see in Winter and why they happen. As we were learning, it started snowing! We went outside to have a look and talked about the difference between snow and sleet.

Chesil completed their paintings of West Bay using water colours this week. They used all the techniques we had learnt and they worked hard to mix the correct colours and add detail, leading to amazing paintings by everyone!

Cogden have had a busy couple of weeks investigating electricity and building their structures in woodwork. The final products are starting to look AMAZING!

Eco-Club met again yesterday and produced posters of how to keep the school greener! In the afternoon, Chesil Class and Little Acorns used ferro rods and strikers to create sparks and watched the flames of the fire dance. To end the Forest School session and to wish everyone a Merry Christmas Mrs Legg and the children tucked into biscuits as a treat. Also, Santa and Marsh & Mallow made an appearance today to entertain the children. A positive end to a positive term. Well done all. The children at After School Club perfected their ferro rod and striker techniques and enjoyed a chat and celebratory biscuit feast around the campfire.

Eco-Club met again yesterday and beautiful drawings were produced of the school flora. In the afternoon, Chesil Class and Little Acorns used their feet as human brooms and produced clay artwork all around the Forest School Site. Some of the clay artworks were imaginative and fun! Well done to all the children. After School Club did not run yesterday as the children that normally attend were singing carols for the local community in their school choir.

On Tuesday afternoon in Monmouth we put our sewing skills to the test. We began to create the designs for the front of our Iron Age bags. We were all able to use a combination of running stitch and cross stitch. We need a bit more time, so are looking forward to continuing next week!

Chesil have been measuring the capacity of different objects today. Some measured in cubes and some worked as a group to measure in millilitres using water. They showed great collaborative skills and reading different scales!
